If your account shows that you have student aid/waivers or a cash payment that has not been applied to your account, it may be because of one of the conditions listed below. Click on "Condition" on the Minimum Amount Due line to see the specific condition(s) applying to your account.

Please note that neither aid/waivers, nor cash payments can be applied to your registration fees until the conditions have been satisfied.

You have a Financial Hold. Please contact Campus Billing Services at (949) 824-2455. This means you have past-due campus debts or a departmental hold that must be paid or cleared before any aid or cash can be applied to your registration fees.

You have not met the minimum required units (MRU) to apply your student aid. This means you have not complied with the federal policy that students must be enrolled in a Minimum Required Number of Units (MRU) by the fee deadline for their financial aid to be applied to their fees. You can view your MRU on the Registrar's site at http://www.reg.uci.edu. Typically the MRU is 6 units for students with financial aid and 1 unit for students with graduate aid. Note that grad students with financial aid will have to enroll in 6 units.

Your fees will be paid automatically once aid is available AND you have reached your minimum required units (MRU) by the quarterly fee payment deadline, as long as you have no other holds on your account.

Students receiving partial aid must meet the MRU applicable for each type of the aid, AND pay the cash balance by the fee deadline for their fees to be paid.

You need your dean's authorization. Undergraduates, see your academic counselor. Graduate students, see Graduate Studies. This means your registration fees have not been paid by the end of the second week of classes, either because your full payment has not been received, you have not enrolled in your MRU and your aid has not been applied, or you have a hold on your account. You will have to obtain your dean's authorization before you can pay your fees or enroll in classes (via add card). A dean's authorization expires after three working days.

You have a Financial Aid hold. Please contact Financial Aid at (949) 824-6261. This means the Office of Financial Aid has put a hold on your record, and you must contact that office for information on how to clear the hold.

Remember also that, no aid, waivers, or cash payments can be applied to your registration fees until all fees (including past-due amounts) have been covered. If you do not pay your fees by the deadline, your classes will be dropped and made available to other students for enrollment, and you will be charged late penalties.
