PACE PLAN Terms and Conditions

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY

• By applying for a PACE registration fee installment plan, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, you should not apply.

APPLICATION

• Each PACE agreement only applies to the current or upcoming quarter. You must apply each quarter if you wish to participate.
• You may apply for the PACE Plan online up until the registration fee deadline. To apply after that date requires approval by the Campus Billing Service.
• The PACE payment plan is available to all students enrolled in a degree-granting program at UCI, who are in good financial standing (without past-due debts or other financial holds and no history of returned checks). PACE applies to full or part-time study, and to California residents or non-residents.

ACTIVATION

• To activate your PACE Agreement you must pay the first installment (which includes the participation fee) before the quarterly registration fee deadline.
• If you have not paid the first installment by the registration fee deadline you will be assessed the regular late registration fee which must be paid in full before any payment will apply to your first PACE installment.
• Your PACE amount and installment details can change at any time after application and before activation based on changes to waivers, aid or credits posted to your account.
• You must verify and acknowledge the amount and details of your agreement when paying your first installment.
• Once activated the terms of your PACE agreement will not change except as permitted by law.

TERMINATION

• If you decide not to participate after applying but before paying your first installment you must cancel the agreement before paying your registration fees to avoid accidental activation.
• If you have not paid the first installment by the second week of instruction your PACE application will be canceled automatically and you will have to pay the full registration amount in order to remain enrolled.

PLAN AMOUNT

• The total PACE Plan Agreement and payment amounts are calculated based on the amount of registration fees after deducting waivers, financial aid or graduate aid credits available at the time of activation, and includes a non-refundable participation fee.
• The participation fee is a flat fee assessed with the first installment, calculated with a sliding scale based on the amount of registration fees due at time of activation.

PAYMENT

• Payments can be made with cash, check or ACH e-check via CASHNet.
• Aid or waivers credited to your ZOT Account after PACE activation may first be applied to your outstanding PACE balance, before disbursing the remainder to you.
• All installments must be paid in full by their due date to avoid late charges and possible disqualification from future PACE participation. Past due installments will prevent the payment of registration fees for subsequent quarters, will place a hold on your student records, and may result in collection actions that include write-off and referral to a collection agency and possible litigation.
• Making a PACE payment does not guarantee your registration fees will be paid, unless all other conditions have been met. For example, past-due obligations preventing registration must be paid in full.
• If you leave school, you are still responsible to pay the PACE balance remaining after applicable refunds for aid adjustments, registration status changes, withdrawal, cancellation, or other credits have been applied to your account.
• The PACE participation fee is not refundable after PACE activation, even if you are later disqualified, canceled or withdrawn from UCI registration.

ELECTRONIC PAYMENT

• When you pay electronically, various payment options are presented in CASHNet. If you applied for PACE, the Activation Amount is one of these options. The Activation Amount includes the first installment, the nonrefundable participation fee, and any past-due amounts from your ZOT Account.
• If you have an open PACE application, and your e-payment is greater than or equal to the Activation Amount, then PACE is activated even if you chose the Amount Due or Account Balance payment option. To avoid accidental activation, you must cancel your application in ZOT Account BEFORE paying.
